DEVIL ANTHEM. – New Outfits + Live Videos + 5th Anniversary One Man Live

Devil Anthem
Devil ANTHEM. is going to celebrate their 5th anniversary with a one man live; they also unveiled their new outfits and are releasing some live videos.
Cute devils are best devils: are we all agreed? Even you, dirty old metalheads fangirling at every artist with the words demon or devil in their name? That’s great. Devil ANTHEM. may not look as extreme and alternative as other groups we usually about — at least, they don’t have a split tongue; regardless, the way they switch from standard idol pop to hard hitting EDM stuff and even some slightly rock-ish songs makes them interesting enough. Last week, the unit unveiled their new outfits, which you can see below. Aside from the iconic cute devil horns, this time they look more on the heavenly side.

Devil ANTHEM. made their debut in 2014; this means that the unit has been active for five years and they’re going to celebrate right before the end of the year with a one man live titled 未来とは、今である~The future is now.~ Congratulations! Let’s also take the chance to review their evolution through the many different looks they changed through the years (hopefully we included all of them!).

Live Anthems

In case you’d like to know how Devil ANTHEM. sounds live, they’ve been uploading some videos to show us what they’re made of. Let’s start with the pop-rock sound full of positivity of “①②③④⑤”, in which the group already shows their new outfits.

On the other hand, “Days” — which we already know thanks to their most recent MV and its making of — leans more toward Devil ANTHEM.‘s EDM side.

And finally, one of my personal favorites: “あなたにANTHEM.” (Anata Ni ANTHEM.). This must be one of the most fun songs ever. How can you not love those happy melodies?

So Devil ANTHEM. brought us a lot of good stuff lately. Let’s wish them many more years of awesome idol music!

3776: Mt. Fuji’s Craziest Idol

3776
3776 has just released a DVD of her show at Moon Romantic through Loco DD; it’s a good chance to get to Mt. Fuji’s craziest idol.
Have you ever wondered how Mt. Fuji was born? Probably not. But aren’t you interested now? Surely you are. Now you have two options: go read some stuff on Wikipedia, or else you can listen to 3776-sensei’s lesson. The latter is highly recommended though.

You know, I’ve always been quite bad at geography; but if I had someone teach me like this, I would be the best geographer in the world now. Maybe. At least, I would have known how tall Mt. Fuji is.

Invitation To Dynamics

3776 are quite infamous for their bizarreness and unique style; this song is no exception, with its electronic, minimalist and experimental sound and this girl talking about Mt. Fuji and yelling Boom! Boom! Boom! Boom! a lot of times. The video above will be part of a DVD titled Invitation To Dynamics produced by Loco DD which has been released on November 24. Take a look at the trailer below to (not) understand how bizarre it can get.

A Bit OF History

3776 were born in 2013 after the disbandement of TEAM MII. Since then, the unit had some line-up changes — labelled as Seasons — and as of today it’s a solo project of Chiyono Ide. Drawing from genres such as jazz, progressive rock and ambient, their music is far from the usual idol style, yet totally belongs to that scene. Just give a listen to this track to understand what I mean.

As you can see, it’s all high quality stuff. The Invitation To Dynamics DVD was shot at Moon Romantic, same location as Sari’s solo debut. In case you’re interested, you can buy it easily here.

CHIKA RADAR #6: Vandarize (ex-No Mark)

Chika Radar #6: Vandarize
After leaving their old name NO MARK behind, Vandarize re-debuts with their single “Limitless” which introduces this new incarnation of this idol unit.
You shouldn’t be surprised that I’ve been hyped about the first Vandarize single, since I’ve been retweeting their news in the last few days. Formerly known as NO MARK, this unit officially re-debuts with a very nice song called “Limitless”; let’s give it a listen.

Many times this kind of sound has proved to be interesting and Vandarize does it well too: a powerful rock structure sustaining the track, electronic-sounding synths providing catchy leading melodies and a bit of harsh vocals here and there in the background; nothing new here, yet the upbeat rhythms and generally positive feeling manage to make this song really fun.

NO MARK already showed us what they were made of through an album titled SET YOU FREE and some videos that you can enjoy on their YouTube channel; while their old stuff was already ok, “Limitless” seems to be a nice step up from their previous incarnation.

Vandarize

The song is available digitally on basically every music streaming service out there; listen to Vandarize‘s “Limitless” on your favorite platform and support this reborn unit.
